Testimonials

“This is definitely the most innovative and genuinely helpful product in planning, alongside DCP.”

Planning Officer, Dorset Council

"Hey! Been trying Claw this afternoon, love how straight forward it is!"

From C. Stokes | North Somerset District Council

"I can highly recommend 'CLAW' - an incredibly user friendly and invaluable planning appeal finder resource…Having tried all other alternatives (PINS, Appeal Finder, etc), I have personally found the CLAW app and website the most intuitive and best compiled planning appeal finder - and at a much more reasonable / cost effective price compared to other competitors too!"

Sarah Henderson - Bondstones

FAQ's

Claw is an intelligent web app that quickly and effectively finds relevant planning appeals, based on the keywords entered into the search bar.

Thats a big secret… Basically it finds appeals published by the Planning Inspectorate (PINS) in England, and shows them to you. You can then download and keep the appeals to use at your will.

Planning appeal are case law for the planning sector. They can change the way that legislation and policy is interpreted. Following a refusal for planning permission, the inclusion of conditions that are considered unreasonable or the serving of enforcement notices, appeals can be submitted to essentially ask the Governments Planning Inspectorate (PINS) to look at the evidence and make a balanced judgement on the case.

The planning Inspectors who make the appeal decisions are appointed by the Secretary of State (SoS). The Secretary of State can also “call in” certain appeals to make the decision himself.

If you work for the Council, there may be restrictions put on the websites and apps you can access. This will have been done by the Council’s internal IT department. If you can’t view or download appeal decisions, speak to your IT department to get them to add Claw to their list of safe sites. You also need to check if the Council have a pop-up blocker on your browser. Once this pop up blocker is removed, you will be able to access the appeal decisions.

Once you have set up a profile, put some keywords in the search bar and press enter. Include “” + – to narrow down the search results.

If you encounter an issue with the site. Email lisa@clawapp.co.uk and we will communicate with you to resolve it.

Claw is currently free to use. Once the free period has lapsed, monthly and yearly subscriptions will be available.
